Our last mailing was the week of February 28, 2007 at which time we sent out an additional 4400 pounds of supplies and necessities to our heroes overseas.  We have now sent a total of 81,000 pounds of supplies, necessities and personally requested items to American soldiers overseas. Included in the care packages were, many food items, candy, and girl scout cookies, toiletries like soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wipes, deodorant, shavers, aspirin, shampoo, conditioner, lipbalm,  magazines and reading material, writing material ie pens, envelopes, writing tablets, hot hand and foot warmers, letters and cards from Jacob's Light Foundation, Inc.and from Americans young and old  around the U.S.A. Our last packing also included Neon silly string which is being requested by soldiers to help them detect trip wires when entering a building.  The troops squirt the plastic neon silly string which can shoot 10 to 12 feet across the room.  If the string falls to the ground no trip wires are in the building.  If it hangs in the air the soldiers know they have a problem.  The wires are otherwise nearly invisible.  This simple addition to our care packages may help to save a soldiers life!  Jacob's Light Foundation Volunteers

We would like to take this special opportunity to that thank Gary Dunn and the Wonderful High School Students at Lone Peak High School in Utah for their amazing efforts to Fundraise.  With the help of their teacher Gary Dunn and , the students at Lone Peak High School in Utah, managed to raise $22,000 for the Jacob's Light Foundation, Inc. We are extremely grateful to these dedicated young men and women and to their teacher Gary Dunn for their wonderful fundraising achievement.  Dorine Kenney was blessed to visit Lone Peak High School in Utah and had the opportunity to speak to and meet these extraordinary young men and women.  We thank each and every student for their participation and to your community for participation in this event. It just shows how young people in our community can make all the difference in the world!

We would also like to thank Fred and Rosalind Gramcko owners of  Split Mountain Park in Borrego Springs, CA for their continued devotion to our cause and their continued financial contributions.  They made an additional contribution in March and their ongoing efforts are most commendable.

Thanks to Ms. Kelly's 3rd Grade classroom at Chamisa Elementary School in Los Alamos, New Mexico for the beautiful cards and letters that they wrote for the soldiers.

We also wish to acknowledge Sue Kali and her students for their cards and letters from Waimia, Hawaii.  We also just received many beautiful cards, letters and pictures from HAR-BER FFA in Springdale, Arizonia givng their thanks to our soldiers.  We will included these cards and letters with our March mailing. We would also like to mention teacher Pamela Rozsa and her students at the Kauai High School in Lihue, Hawaii for their beautiful letters to the soldiers.

We also just received letters from Aaron Sicotte English Teacher at Guilderland High School in Guilderland, New York.  Mr. Sicotte had his students read Tim O'Brien's "The Things They Carried " which so inspired his students awareness of what a soldier goes through that they wrote letters to our troops in Iraq and Afganistan to show their support and encouragement. We will included those letters with our mailing in March. Thanks for the beautiful heartfelt letters and we hope you will continue to write to our troops.
